Workshop

Los Angeles · Shop 2 · est. 2014

Ten weeks.
Six pairs of hands.

We are twelve people who left film shops to build for the people who actually wear this stuff. Here's how a piece gets made.

01

Scan & model

Every build starts from reference — screen captures, museum pieces, or a LiDAR scan of the original. We remodel for a human head, not a display shelf.

02

Print & reinforce

Shells are printed in PLA+ or ABS, then skinned with fibreglass and resin so they survive being worn, dropped and packed into an overhead bin.

03

Fill, sand, repeat

Four passes of filler and sanding between 120 and 800 grit. This is the stage nobody sees and everybody notices.

04

Paint & clear

Primer, base, chip layers where the story needs them, then a 2K automotive clear coat. Satin, not glossy — light should behave.

05

Electronics

Servos, microphones and batteries are mounted on quick-release plates so a failed part is a two-minute swap, not a rebuild.

06

Fit & sign

Liners are cut to your measurements, the builder signs the inside of the shell, and the whole thing is packed in a foam-lined flight case.

Made to measure

Book a fitting,
keep the photos

Full armor and exo-suit builds begin with a 22-point measurement form and two video fittings. You get build photos every Friday, and the suit is assembled on a mannequin built to your body before it ships.

  • — 22-point measurement guide, printable at home
  • — Two video fittings with the builder
  • — Weekly photo updates for the whole build
  • — Fit guarantee — free adjustments for 12 months
